Turn an ordinary walk into an outdoor adventure this half term!
The Wild Walk Explorer Challenge encourages children to step outside, slow down and discover the amazing nature all around them. How many different leaves can they spot? Can they find birds, insects, animals or interesting natural treasures along the way?
You can easily adapt the challenge to suit your child’s age — from simple colour spotting and counting, to identifying different species and learning new nature facts.
One fun idea to try: create a nature bracelet! Wrap a strip of sellotape around your child’s wrist (sticky side facing out) and collect tiny treasures along your walk — a leaf, a feather, a petal or small flower. By the end of the adventure, they’ll have their very own wearable nature collection.
This challenge builds curiosity, observation skills and a love for the outdoors — all while enjoying fresh air and family time.
Perfect for half term.
Simple. Screen-free. Memory-making.
